Black Sabbath veteran Bill Ward has once again elaborated his side of the story about the band’s decision to turn him into a fragment of their past. Back in 2012, Ward was believed to be physically incapable of handling the day by day responsibilities of the “13” tour that was already being set in motion for the next year. However, Ward has been defending his position ever since, claiming the members forced him out of the group by using an “unsignable contract.” Sabbath hasn’t gone back on their original statement, and Bill’s accusations are sounding more and more rational as time stretches on.
Therefore, the question remains, what do the three current, original composers have against the exiled drummer who helped craft the first few albums that lifted the band to an unprecedented pedestal? Even after all the success, fame and being crowned as heavy metal royalty, what type of grudge overshadows the glory of Sabbath’s history? While they certainly aren’t the first to rise to an astronomical height before becoming susceptible to controversy, this group deserves a virtuous conclusion as they prepare for The End Tour.
