The rumors surrounding the Guns N’ Roses (Appetite For Destruction era) reunion are continuing to make news. As of today, a festival promoter is supposedly seeking interest in having the most dangerous band in the world headline a show in Portugal. While it appears the chances of GN’R getting back together are becoming greater by each new detail being leaked, I would argue that these “leads” aren’t reliable enough to amount to anything beyond speculation.
The band made musical history with its original line-up and any fan of its first two, jaw dropping studio albums can understand the passion to keep them relevant. With only one initial member remaining in the current roster, it’s acceptable to feel betrayed after watching a group with so much potential lose its founding ideals within a few short years. As the next generation takes control of the music industry, fans are grasping at straws, trying to salvage any intel on their highest hope: A GN’R reconciliation.
If these rumors are the real deal, why are they being reported as hush hush for a prodigious event larger than any fan’s fantasy. It’s difficult to determine what’s being pondered behind closed doors between Axl Rose’s interpretation of the situation and what Slash’s take on it is, however it’s a train of thought that deserves direct answers for a community that’s dying to hear a response.
