The recent spawn of album releases by former major label headliners feels like a sudden revival in the rock and metal world. Bands such as Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Slayer, Scorpions, Def Leppard and more are either preparing for a tour or about to launch their latest material. It’s a gift for die hard fans to get a taste of their band’s fresh new ideas and an opportunity for newcomers to experience a piece of the past that may have flown over their head. Iron Maiden’s ‘The Book Of Souls‘ topping the UK charts and Slayer’s ‘Repentless‘ reaching #4 on The Billboard 200 signifies the relevance of the music genre itself. If this music was dead in the past, these bands wouldn’t bother taking a chance creating a new identity for themselves on a generation that’s taken music into a different direction. It’s undeniable that fans are eating up the current products of their favorite bands and the fact that their sales are climbing higher and higher proves them right.
