GUNS N’ ROSES OPEN QUESTION OF WHAT MAKES A GOOD REUNION

After hearing an endless amount of rumors concerning the long-awaited Guns N’ Roses Appetite-era reunion, Rolling Stone has announced that Axl Rose will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live this Tuesday (January 5th, 2016) for a public reveal of GNR‘s future plans. Many have been anticipating this broadcast all throughout 2015 using clues from Guns‘s official website, twitter account and peculiar movie theater footage. However it appears that fans have finally met some solid evidence that backs up their year of investigation.

It’s astonishing how many details are popping inside people’s minds about a performance that hasn’t even been directly confirmed yet. But through all this rationalizing, there’s a common notion among the chatter suggesting that not all the original members will make attendance. Whether or not this is true remains a mystery, although it brings forth an interesting concept:

Who should accompany Rose on stage?

Is it a valuable reunion if a few faces go missing? Does it matter as long as the main attractions show up? How much is mandatory to suit your needs?

Van Halen had a successful reunion in 2007 with the long-awaited return of David Lee Roth yet elimination of original bassist Michael Anthony. Some approve of the lineup due to the homecoming of Roth and the acceptance of Wolfgang Van Halen’s role in the band. Scenarios like this overshadow the controversy entirely for a minority group and sometimes overall majority.

Black Sabbath is preparing for their final tour this February and not everyone is crushed to hear of Bill Ward’s exclusion from the lineup. With Ozzy front and center, Tony Iommi casting his doomy riffs and Geezer Butler’s roaring bass line, the mostly original band can still pull off an impressive performance without taking anything away from the complete experience. However, is this enough to satisfy you?

If circumstances called for a partially original lineup for GN’R, is there a demanding limit?

Slash is undoubtedly the most important member to return and no one is worried that he isn’t involved But who else deserves the spotlight? Do enough vital characters sell the show for you?

There isn’t any ground proof that indicates the official roster. Rose could go on Jimmy Kimmel and reveal that all five members will take the stage with him and pull off one of the most highly-anticipated reunions in music history. But if that wasn’t the case, would it determine your approval?
